09/10/2007: "Gabrielle is a no-show"

Gabrielle came and went without anyone really noticing. We had scattered showers on Sunday, with heavy downpours in some areas but the wind never kicked up here. The center stayed offshore and there were reports of high winds on the Outer Banks but on shore the storm was pretty much a no-show. Not that we are complaining. We are now ready for the next storm to come our way since I am going to hold off putting the sails back on until the repairs are complete and we are ready to go home again. Hopefully there won’t be another one this season, but that is just wishful thinking. We have had it too good so far and the forecasters are bound to be right eventually.
