"There is nothing -- absolutely nothing -- half so much worth doing as
simply messing about in boats. In or out of 'em, it doesn't matter.
Nothing seems really to matter, that's the charm of it. Whether you get
away, or whether you don't; whether you arrive at your destination or
whether you reach somewhere else, or whether you never get anywhere at
all, you're always busy, and you never do anything in particular; and
when you've done it there's always something else to do, and you can do
it if you like, but you'd much better not."
Spoken by Ratty to Mole in Wind in the Willows a children's book by
Kenneth Grahame (1859-1932).
Some of the projects we have completed:
Other Projects underway or completed:
Cori is making new sailcovers and will be making a new dodger and
bimini. Winch and compass covers are already done.
All exterior wood received six coats of Cetol - four regular and two
clear. The Cetol did not hold up and it was scraped off and let to go
natural after saveral years.
One of the vents at the stern was replaced by a Nicro Day/Night
solar vent with an attached vent hose leading into the bilge. A new
blower was installed to ventilate the engine compartment vented out
other vent.
Wiring for the chartplotter was run to the wheel allowing it to be
used at the wheel or at the navigation station. This was removed in spring of 2014 with the install of the new
Ramarine Multifunction Display.
The automatic bilge switch was replaced and a bilge alarm installed.
We are in the process of varnishing all of the below deck woodwork.
The cushions in the V-berth have been recovered and the salon
cushions will be recovered later.
More upgrades and improvements/changes will be added
as I write up articles.
